It's About More Than Your Money - It's About You
Working with a financial advisor is about more than money. It's about you—who you are and where you're going in life. Money is a necessary part of the journey, and together we'll craft a plan and chart a financial course to reach the destination you desire. My role is to help provide you with the financial security, freedom, and opportunity to live the life you want to live.
I look forward to getting to know you.
I don't work for an insurance or mutual fund company, I work for my clients. I founded J. Taylor Financial because I want to provide my clients with better research and better investment options at a better price. As an independent fiduciary, my role is to align your needs and goals with the most appropriate investment platforms and vehicles in the marketplace.
I have chosen Cambridge Investment Research to be my broker/dealer because of their consistent commitment to provide unfettered access to the best investment options available. As an added benefit, their back office support is unbeatable.

Since becoming a Christian during my high school years, it has been my joy and purpose to honor God in all I do.
Husband and Father:
Married to my lovely wife Helen for over twenty years, we have been greatly blessed by a wonderful son and daughter. Enjoying time together is the highlight of my life.
As the grandson of a bank president and the nephew of a Harvard finance professor, I was destined to end up working with money. My parents made sure I was exposed to as much investing and market news as a teenager can handle—ask me about Louis Rukeyser and Richard Russell. I truly enjoy what I do, and it's my goal to see my clients enjoy the fruits of wise investing. You can view my background on FINRA's BrokerCheck.
As the son of a petroleum geologist, I was born and raised overseas. After college I spent 10 years doing missions work internationally: South America, Russia, Central Asia, Caribbean, and eastern and central Europe. I've travelled to 49 countries, and at various points in my life I was conversant in Portuguese, Russian, and Slovak, but please don't test me—it was a long time ago.
When not working, I greatly enjoy fishing, shooting, hunting, skiing, and generally doing something fun under a big sky in the big mountains. I used to be an avid surfer, and I played a little rugby, but I hung up my boots in 2008.
I earned a BA in History from The University of Texas at Austin in 1988 and a Master of Divinity from Denver Seminary in 2008. But the learning never ends.
